Public Sector Case Studies
We’re at our most resourceful when it matters most
Few people know that DHL:
- is trusted to keep the UK’s hospitals operational
- provides the product needs of 80,000 prisoners, delivered directly to cell doors in over 130 UK prisons every week
- operates consolidation centres for retailers that reduce city centre delivery miles by three quarters, saving tonnes in C02 emissions.
When your needs are complex and getting it right is critical, DHL can be trusted to get the job done. We’re a reliable outsourcing partner of Government when things are hard to manage, when they matter most and when cost savings are essential.
NHS Supply Chain
Hospitals can’t function without highly skilled and dedicated staff. But other things are also critical in helping to keep the nation healthy.
Our NHS Supply Chain business delivers over four million orders into 250,000 NHS hospital delivery points every year, providing anything from hi-tech diagnostic equipment, to toilet rolls and tomatoes - and everything you might not want to think about in between.

National Flu Pandemic Programme
In October 2009 NHS Supply Chain signed the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Programme (PIPP) contract with the Department of Health (DH). This contract builds on NHS Supply Chain's experience of providing end-to-end supply chain management solutions for the Department. NHS Supply Chain is operated by DHL.
