WEEE Recycling Services

There are UK Regulations in place intended to reduce the generation of waste electrical & electronic equipment (WEEE) (including batteries), as well as maximise the collection, re-use & recycling of these waste materials.

Local authorities, manufacturers, importers & retailers all have a part to play in meeting the collection & recycling targets, so all need the right solutions in place. Coupled with our approved producer compliance scheme, DHL Envirosolutions can help with your WEEE recycling & collection services.

Civic amenity sites are one of the biggest collectors of electrical items.

Not only will DHL collect all the electrical items - big or small - free of charge, we’ll work proactively to promote WEEE recycling in your local community with our own network of experienced Local Authority Liaison Officers.

DHL is one of the largest collectors of WEEE from local authorities and has the national infrastructure already in place wherever your location.

Local Authority WEEE support services include:
  • Set-up of recycling & battery collection points in popular local areas (e.g. supermarkets)
  • Free collection
  • Best possible recycling treatment
  • WEEE & battery collection
  • Proactive community campaigns.

So whilst we’ll make sure your local recycling rates increase, we'll also reduce your costs at the same time!

Relocations, refurbishment and renewals usually leave businesses with bulky unwanted electrical equipment.

Whether we swap new for old at the same time or just collect your unwanted kit, DHL ensures you’ll have the evidence you need to prove your old equipment has been processed and disposed of correctly.

And we have the network, expertise and correct vehicles in place whatever the size and shape of your out-of-date stuff.

Local Authority WEEE support services include:
  • IT Equipment
  • Photocopiers
  • Kitchen equipment
  • Bespoke items like x-rays machines, industrial printers, etc.

Whether you’re looking for a specialist service to manage it on your behalf, or if you need extra capacity to handle those peak times, DHL Envirosolutions has the infrastructure at hand to help where and when you need it.

WEEE Recycling - Warwickshire County Council

DHL Envirosolutions is contracted to collect and recycle WEEE from Household Waste Recycling Centres in Warwickshire.

In addition to delivering this service, DHL Envirosolutions has been working in partnership with Warwickshire County Council to raise WEEE awareness among residents and to make WEEE recycling more accessible.

This includes:
  • A Local Authority Liaison Officer to work with the Council to identify WEEE recycling projects, maximize WEEE tonnages and influence the recycling habits of residents
  • An end to end service for WEEE Recycling Banks to divert waste materials from landfill and enable residents to ‘Recycle on the Go’
  • A WEEE Kerbside Collection Round to increase WEEE tonnages and make recycling more accessible to residents
  • Recognising that children are the recyclers of the future by providing a national curriculum linked Key Stage 2 WEEE Education Resource for schools.
“Having a Local Authority Liaison Officer from DHL really helps with the promotion of WEEE recycling. Without the help from DHL we would not have been able to hold bring events. Due to the success of these events, we plan to hold more throughout the summer. It's great an educational pack has been produced and this will really help with our work.”
