Where can you see the future? In March 2007 DHL opened a central and innovative research center and meeting platform: the DHL Innovation Center located close to the airport Cologne/Bonn, Germany. The mission of the DHL Innovation Center is to develop marketable, highly innovative logistics solutions that are flexible and ecologically sound - solutions to meet the challenges of the future. Therefore employees from DHL work together with scientists and engineers from industry and research partners.

The 'laboratory of the future' represents a key element of the Group's corporate strategy, which aims to position Deutsche Post World Net as both the biggest and the most innovative global logistics company.

With its three areas the DHL Innovation Center is a place for research, meetings and a place to present innovation in logistics. The showroom turns the latest logistics innovations and visions into an emotional hands-on experience for visitors, using state-of-the-art RFID technology and prototypes. The Center's laboratory provides a common research and development platform for the Group's initiatives in the area of technical innovation management. In the conference area, we look for forward-looking logistics solutions with customers, partner companies and internal business units.
