New Labels & Identification
You may already be aware that there is a new industry standard for the labelling, identification and tracking of packages. This new format is known as Licence Plate. As part of our ongoing service improvement programme, DHL is now switching to Licence Plate as our primary shipment identifier. For most customers this will simply mean a new set of despatch labels.
What will change?
What will change?
- New label orders for Domestic & European Road services will be fulfilled using the new Licence Plate 18 alpha numeric character identifier.
- Please read the leaflet below on selecting the correct new label to order. To avoid waste, please continue to use your existing supply of labels and order when you require replenishment.
- We have reduced the number of core labels to 5. Some labels will be used for more than one service option and you will need to tick the service required.
- The attached leaflet shows you which label should be used for which service. It may help you to display the booklet in your dispatch area.
- The new Licence Plate issued by DHL will have 18 characters, should you have processes that use the 12 digit Parcel Number you will need to make changes.
