DHL expedites loan applications by taking the time for customer signatures

DHL expedites loan applications and provides custom-made support for UK loan industry

DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company has launched a new service specifically supporting the UK loan industry. The new service will use the company's thousand-vehicle network of Sameday couriers to deliver and return loan applications in a single day, thereby shortening the overall application process.

DHL Financial Services, a specialist division within DHL, is a trusted partner to some of the UK's leading financial institutions. With this new service, DHL Sameday couriers will deliver loan application documents to the applicant, allow time for the applicant to read, understand and sign the application before returning the completed document to the loan provider. It is possible for documents to be sent, signed and returned in just one day*, potentially saving 4-5 days compared to incumbent postal methods. The service, which will be available to loan providers immediately, means that loans will not be held up unnecessarily and allow successful applicants to access borrowed funds sooner.

DHL Financial Services are also prepared to work with individual loan providers to create bespoke solutions for its customers, and are exploring internet and email technologies that will ensure the quickest delivery standards across the industry.

We recognize that a loan company’s customers value speed when making an application, but that the need for a signature means there is an inherent delay with current procedures. The new service is designed specifically with that in mind, offering a premium service for both the loan industry and its customers.” said Mike Gillions, Head of Solution Design, DHL Financial Services. He continued, “The loan industry is not the only sector that could benefit from this type of service. Other industries also depend on customer signatures, so there is the potential to offer a similar service to legal, HR and property industries for example.”
