DHL Express, the world's leading express delivery and logistics company, has launched 'Next Day USA', a new, high-speed delivery service, which considerably enhances DHL's existing transatlantic services by providing next-day delivery from the UK's major business centres to key cities across the USA. This means that a package or document picked-up by DHL in the afternoon in the major UK cities, including Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Bristol, Cambridge and Reading will reach all major US business centres next day. This is an improvement on current DHL offering giving wider next day USA service coverage for key UK cities outside of London and will considerably improve business links between the two countries. DHL customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy can also take advantage of DHL's new Next Day service.

Utilising DHL's vast delivery network, the new service significantly reduces the amount of time taken to deliver packages to the USA from the UK. In fact, 'Next Day USA' delivery covers 96% of all business addresses in the USA. In addition, DHL offers 'Next Day Midday' delivery to New York City for all non-dutiable shipments. DHL continues to lead the market with its integrated network in both countries to provide a quality transatlantic delivery service.

DHL flies daily from the UK (London Heathrow Airport and East Midlands) to five international gateways in the USA (New York, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Wilmington), which ensures nationwide coverage. Furthermore, DHL is offering a unique freight container cut off time for DHL customers over and above the competition. Unlike any other express shippers in the USA, DHL actually owns the primary domestic airport at the DHL Air Park in Wilmington, Ohio. This direct control allows DHL to continually upgrade and modify air routes to serve customers better. In the USA DHL has invested $1.2 billion upgrading the network, modernizing and expanding hubs with the latest technology and equipment available for quickly and efficiently sorting, scanning and tracking.

The majority of dutiable shipments are cleared prior to arrival at DHL USA gateways to ensure the quickest possible entry into the local network. Moreover, DHL has licensed customs brokers with on-site customs clearance at all USA international gateways and extensive country-by-country knowledge of current customs regulations of our in-house experts. Overall, DHL jointly ranks in first position for average delivery reliability across the sector.

There will soon be further enhancements to the 'Next Day USA' delivery services with timed offerings. A new service will ensure door-to-door delivery of documents and packages to major business centres in the USA by 10.30 am and by 12.00 noon.
