DHL expands its Day Definite delivery service to Eastern Europe

DHL Express extends Europlus Day Definite delivery service as part of European growth

DHL today announced the expansion of its Europlus Day Definite delivery service to Romania, Bulgaria, Russia and Turkey. The expansion of the Europlus service reflects the company's increasing provision of services to Eastern Europe, which aims to meet growing customer demand by providing delivery to all EU countries as well as to neighbouring territories. The new service expansion brings the total number of European destinations serviced by DHL Europlus to 34 countries and territories.

The extension of DHL's Europlus Day Definite delivery service strengthens DHL's leading position in the European Express delivery market, meaning that customers can use one supplier for all their shipping needs across the continent. The Europlus service provides fast, reliable and convenient business-to-business Day Definite deliveries for single and multiple parcel shipments as well as pallets guaranteeing extremely competitive transit times. The service supports the delivery of most commodities and can be tailored for individual requirements. Late pick-up and early delivery times as well as a door-to-door service are of particular value to customers with business requirements in Eastern Europe. Internet booking for pick-up allows easy customer accessibility - customers can track orders at all times through DHL's easy-to-use and transparent on-line tracking system.

The Europlus service aims to facilitate increasing business links between Western and Eastern Europe and by providing a highly standardized delivery solution for regular shipments, the service extension allows DHL to compete directly against companies already operating in the region. The expansion of the Europlus service illustrates DHL's commitment to increasing its operations across localities and underlines the development of DHL's new business in a growing market. An extension to Greece is planned to follow.

Angus Whiteman, Product Director DHL Express, said: "Customer feedback has told us there is a real need for one supplier that can offer a complete delivery solution to Eastern Europe and we are delighted to be able to respond to that need. DHL Express is always looking for new opportunities to grow the business and the expansion into Eastern Europe represents an exciting challenge for us."
